ACT Biosecurity Emergency Response Training Workshop One

In November 2016 ACFEC delivered two workshops for the Biosecurity Emergency Preparedness and Response Training for two Government agencies in the ACT: the Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate and Transport Canberra and City Services.  The training engaged officers of two different levels, team members and team leaders. The training equipped learners with skills to effectively respond to a biosecurity emergency incident.

The training was a mixture of theoretical and practical activities, including practicing decontamination procedures and engaging in effective communication during a stressful situation.

Officers will soon have the opportunity to apply these skills in a two-day workplace simulation based on hypothetical a foot-and-mouth disease outbreak.

Stay tuned!
